The Mindful Moments in the Classroom Card Deck is designed to seamlessly integrate mindfulness into your daily routine, whether in the classroom or at home. By integrating mindful moments into your day, you’ll be giving children tools for self-regulation, focus, and emotional well-being—skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom. These simple, effective practices can help children refocus, relax, and reset, fostering a more mindful learning environment.
Here’s how to get started:
1. Choose a Card Based on the Need
Each card color corresponds to a specific type of mindfulness practice:
Orange: Use for breathwork when students need to calm or center themselves.
Pink: Select for body movement when they need to release energy or refocus.
Yellow: Choose for sensory mindfulness to engage their senses and ground them in the present moment.
Green: Pick for guided meditations or body scans to help them relax deeply or transition into calm.
2. Be Consistent
Incorporating these mindful moments regularly throughout the day can help children develop a stronger connection to mindfulness. Whether you’re starting the morning, transitioning between lessons, or winding down at the end of the day, these practices will provide much-needed pauses to help children reset.
3. Encourage Reflection
After completing a mindfulness exercise, give children a chance to share their experience. Ask open-ended questions like, "How do you feel now?" or "What did you notice?" This helps them internalize the benefits of mindfulness and creates a space for dialogue.
4. Adapt as Needed
Every child and group is different. Feel free to modify the practices based on their energy levels or individual needs. Whether you're using the cards to calm an anxious child, energize a sleepy group, or simply offer a brain break, flexibility is key.
Remember - Mindful Moments don’t have to be long! Aim for 3–5 minutes per session. Read the card instructions aloud or guide the practice in your own words. Invite children to participate without pressure—mindfulness is all about their experience in the moment.
Card decks come in a protective, plastic case.
